a blink and a smile

it is a well-known fact that about half the people in my family [immediate and extended] cannot wink without much difficulty. i'm sure you are now thrilled with that knowledge. go forth, and use it to your advantage. 
yesterday, i went out to the Graffiti Bridge and walked on train tracks all the way to this place called Hobo Island. it was like...the Grand Canyon of sand. and i sank knee-deep into this mud and it took three of my guy buddies to pull me out. and then i had to have plastic bags on my feet on the way home. XD 
so, Christmas is over...i hope everybody had a fun time! now New Year's is coming up. ugh. that means a new semester in school, resolutions to break, and having to remember what year it is when i write the date on my papers. and i have to change the year in my artist's signature. so many say '09, i don't know if i can make myself write '10! 
OMG IT'S A NEW DECADE.  :O whoa!!!!!!!!

the dude in the picture is Dallas Green, who is, in my opinion, something of a musical genius. all of his chords blend perfectly with his smooth voice, and his lyrics are simply beautiful. go listen to some of his songs, and you try to tell me i'm wrong. go ahead, i dare you. this is my favorite find since StereoMood and glove octopuses!

i was perusing the internet today, as i often do...and i came across THESE!

i don't know how to make them (though i wish i did!) but you can find out how by looking at a local bookstore for a craft book by some Japanese guy named Miyako Kanamori. you should probably look for it, or you can order one for $18 from goodergoods on Etsy!

anyways, that is about all for this post, besides the fact that i survived exams!!! yay!

news that's not in papers

this weekend, i discovered a sad thing. 
imeem.com has merged with stupid myspace and is now nothing like what it should be! (i'm quite a bit peeved. imeem was literally my favorite site.) you can still search for random music stuff i put up here, but you'll just have to look it up on myspace, i guess. who knows, you might even discover more bands! (it's always good to keep a positive air about, you know?) 
other than that, i had another thing to say.
if you haven't heard of Animal Collective, look them up! i dare you! if you have, good on ya. 

it's almost Christmas!!! :D i'm excited, but only cause i know most of what i'm getting hehehe. 
oh, and i haven't updated in forever because i have semester exams all this week. but tomorrow is my last day, anyways. history and chemistry. YUCK. so, to all of you with exams as well, i feel your pain and i wish you good luck.
